New kate/kwrite bundles for mac

Welcome to MakeUseOf’s “Guide to KDE: The Other Linux Desktop.”This guide is meant to introduce the so-called “power users” of computers with an introduction to KDE, including the option (and freedom) that it provides.

Hi, I used MacPorts to install kate. It looked good: - Attempting to fetch kate-4.12.20.darwin12.x8664.tbz2.rmd160 from - Installing kate @4.12.20 - Activating kate @4.12.20 Don't forget that dbus needs to be started as the local user (not with sudo) before any KDE programs will launch. To start it run the following command: launchctl load -w /Library/LaunchAgents/org.freedesktop.dbus-session.plist - Cleaning kate - Updating database of binaries: 100.0% - Scanning binaries for linking errors: 100.0% - No broken files found. But there is no 'kate' in /opt/local/bin/kate - where is the editor? Anyone have a clue for me?

Can you find other KDE related processes (such as kde4-config, kded4, etc) in /opt/local/bin/? Cook47@rcmac : ls /opt/local/bin/kde. /opt/local/bin/kde4-config /opt/local/bin/kdeinit4wrapper /opt/local/bin/kdeinit4shutdown /opt/local/bin/kdestroy Also note: cook47@rcmac : find /opt/local/ -name 'kate' 2/dev/null /opt/local//include/kate /opt/local//share/apps/kate /opt/local//var/macports/software/kate /opt/local//var/macports/sources/rsync.macports.org/release/tarballs/ports/kde/kate. Thanks for engaging with me on this question. Your question prompted me to explore macports' command line options, and there is one that I used to find the answer: Code: port contents kate The results were enlightening.
