Oct 14, 2011  Note The e-mail message that is over the attachment size limit is moved to the Drafts folder. Every time that Entourage for Mac tries to perform a regular synchronization with Exchange 2007, Entourage for Mac crashes for several minutes when it tries to synchronize the Drafts folder. Microsoft Entourage 2008 In the four years since the last major version of Microsoft Office, Entourage has probably come under more attack from Apple’s applications than any other member of the. Burnet's expertise in specific infectious diseases of global health significance. With our research and public health programs in women's and children's health;.

My Day, a mini schedule Entourage provided, note list, and project manager functionality. With Entourage 2004, Microsoft began offering a Project Center, which allowed the user to create and organize projects. Information may come from within Entourage or outside the program. Entourage supported retrieving email using, and (for servers). Entourage 2008 featured a new 'My Day' utility, which assists in organizing one's day, and cites (in the welcome message) improvements to search speed, 'to do' flags, improved junk mail and protection, as well as quick navigation via favorites and customizable toolbars. Features Entourage supported some Mac OS technologies, like the search engine and AppleScript; however, the use of a monolithic database made it difficult to back up incrementally with Time Machine.

Entourage also maintained a separate address book, but allowed synchronization of contacts and calendar events through. Comparison to Outlook Unlike the other applications in the Mac version of the suite, Entourage did not share a name with its counterpart. Microsoft claimed that Entourage was intended 'to address an entirely different audience'. Entourage had its origins in 5 on the Mac, as well as and contained 'no ported code, and no Office code'.

Nevertheless, Microsoft has positioned Entourage as a 'similar' product for Macintosh customers on Exchange servers. As a client for Microsoft Exchange Entourage had included support for Microsoft Exchange servers since August 4, 2003, when the Exchange Update for Entourage X was released.

This early release required the use of IMAP for mail connectivity and WebDAV for address and calendar functionality. (Subsequent versions have dropped the requirement for IMAP and rely solely on WebDAV.) Users complained of the lack of a variety of functions present in Outlook for Windows and Outlook 2001. Subsequent versions of Entourage added some of the missing functionality. However, full parity with Outlook as an Exchange client was never available in Entourage 2008. Synchronization of tasks and notes with an Exchange server was not available.

Many Exchange users have been vocal in denouncing Microsoft's omission of these features. Microsoft claimed to have prioritized 'reliability' over expanded Exchange support in Entourage 2008.

One major shortcoming of Entourage was its inability to handle complex HTML. While messages could be received and viewed correctly, they could not be forwarded without all formatting being stripped out. As an example, an airline confirmation received from, say, Imaginary Airlines, could not be forwarded without all of the pictorial information being reduced to links, rendering the e-mail unreadable. A workaround for this was to choose 'Forward as attachment' which forwarded the message as a file, and preserved complex HTML formatting.

An additional limitation was the inability to attach what is referred to as an 'Item' in Outlook to a message while it was being composed since there was no menu choice to allow this. Instead, a user needed to find the item to be forwarded, i.e., a Contact, select it, then choose Forward as vCard from the menu. It was also not possible to create or manage server side rules on the Exchange server, so filtering only worked when the Entourage application was running.

Limitations Entourage could not natively read and could not read Outlook archived emails without first re-importing them back into the main Windows Outlook database. As a result, it was impossible to directly transfer email data from Outlook (Windows) into Entourage (Mac). Although Microsoft had released a PST Import Tool for Entourage, this did not directly solve the problem of exporting data from Windows to Mac, because this utility could only import PST files from Outlook 2001 for the Mac. One could import a Windows Outlook 2000 compatible PST to Mac Outlook 2001, and then use the utility to import into Entourage.

To address this, Microsoft made Mac Outlook 2001 available for free download. This wasn't a solution for all Mac users, because Outlook 2001 only runs in the, which cannot run in OS 10.5 or on any Intel Macs. Outlook for Office 2011 for Intel Macs, is able to import Outlook.pst files from Windows; however, data will be stored as many individual files, rather than in a single database such as.pst or the Entourage database. Macworld indicates that Windows Outlook messages can be transferred to Apple Mail or Entourage by using as an intermediate agent. Thunderbird on Windows is used to import the mail from Outlook. Then the converted mail file is moved from the Windows Thunderbird directory to the Mac and the import feature is used on Mac Mail or Entourage. However, message attachments will be lost in the conversion to Thunderbird.

Commercial third-party software (e.g. Emailchemy) is available to facilitate the transfer of Outlook data to Entourage. But those using the mbox format will not be able to respect any subfolder hierarchy since the mbox format doesn't support it.

Other alternative solutions include synchronizing: to an iPod Touch or iPhone through iTunes; using Apple MobileMe service; using an IMAP-enabled email provider; using a Microsoft Exchange server. (official site). – Its best known software products are the Microsoft Windows line of operating systems, Microsoft Office office suite, and Internet Explorer and Edge web browsers.

Its flagship hardware products are the Xbox video game consoles and the Microsoft Surface tablet lineup, as of 2016, it was the worlds largest software maker by revenue, and one of the worlds most valuable companies. Microsoft was founded by Paul Allen and Bill Gates on April 4,1975, to develop and it rose to dominate the personal computer operating system market with MS-DOS in the mid-1980s, followed by Microsoft Windows.

The companys 1986 initial public offering, and subsequent rise in its share price, since the 1990s, it has increasingly diversified from the operating system market and has made a number of corporate acquisitions. In May 2011, Microsoft acquired Skype Technologies for $8.5 billion, in June 2012, Microsoft entered the personal computer production market for the first time, with the launch of the Microsoft Surface, a line of tablet computers. The word Microsoft is a portmanteau of microcomputer and software, Paul Allen and Bill Gates, childhood friends with a passion for computer programming, sought to make a successful business utilizing their shared skills. In 1972 they founded their first company, named Traf-O-Data, which offered a computer that tracked and analyzed automobile traffic data.

Allen went on to pursue a degree in science at Washington State University. The January 1975 issue of Popular Electronics featured Micro Instrumentation and Telemetry Systemss Altair 8800 microcomputer, Allen suggested that they could program a BASIC interpreter for the device, after a call from Gates claiming to have a working interpreter, MITS requested a demonstration. Since they didnt actually have one, Allen worked on a simulator for the Altair while Gates developed the interpreter and they officially established Microsoft on April 4,1975, with Gates as the CEO. Allen came up with the name of Micro-Soft, as recounted in a 1995 Fortune magazine article. In August 1977 the company formed an agreement with ASCII Magazine in Japan, resulting in its first international office, the company moved to a new home in Bellevue, Washington in January 1979. Microsoft entered the OS business in 1980 with its own version of Unix, however, it was MS-DOS that solidified the companys dominance. For this deal, Microsoft purchased a CP/M clone called 86-DOS from Seattle Computer Products, branding it as MS-DOS, following the release of the IBM PC in August 1981, Microsoft retained ownership of MS-DOS.

Since IBM copyrighted the IBM PC BIOS, other companies had to engineer it in order for non-IBM hardware to run as IBM PC compatibles. Due to various factors, such as MS-DOSs available software selection, the company expanded into new markets with the release of the Microsoft Mouse in 1983, as well as with a publishing division named Microsoft Press. Paul Allen resigned from Microsoft in 1983 after developing Hodgkins disease, while jointly developing a new OS with IBM in 1984, OS/2, Microsoft released Microsoft Windows, a graphical extension for MS-DOS, on November 20,1985. Once Microsoft informed IBM of NT, the OS/2 partnership deteriorated, in 1990, Microsoft introduced its office suite, Microsoft Office 2.

– A calendar is a system of organizing days for social, religious, commercial or administrative purposes. This is done by giving names to periods of time, typically days, weeks, months, a date is the designation of a single, specific day within such a system. A calendar is also a record of such a system. A calendar can also mean a list of planned events, such as a calendar or a partly or fully chronological list of documents.

Periods in a calendar are usually, though not necessarily, synchronized with the cycle of the sun or the moon. The most common type of calendar was the lunisolar calendar. Latin calendarium meant account book, register, the Latin term was adopted in Old French as calendier and from there in Middle English as calender by the 13th century. The course of the Sun and the Moon are the most evident forms of timekeeping, nevertheless, the Roman calendar contained very ancient remnants of a pre-Etruscan 10-month solar year.

The first recorded calendars date to the Bronze Age, dependent on the development of writing in the Ancient Near East, a larger number of calendar systems of the Ancient Near East becomes accessible in the Iron Age, based on the Babylonian calendar. This includes the calendar of the Persian Empire, which in turn gave rise to the Zoroastrian calendar as well as the Hebrew calendar, calendars in antiquity were lunisolar, depending on the introduction of intercalary months to align the solar and the lunar years. This was mostly based on observation, but there may have been attempts to model the pattern of intercalation algorithmically. The Roman calendar was reformed by Julius Caesar in 45 BC, the Julian calendar was no longer dependent on the observation of the new moon but simply followed an algorithm of introducing a leap day every four years.

This created a dissociation of the month from the lunation. The Islamic calendar is based on the prohibition of intercalation by Muhammad and this resulted in an observationally based lunar calendar that shifts relative to the seasons of the solar year. The first calendar reform of the modern era was the Gregorian calendar. Such ideas are mooted from time to time but have failed to gain traction because of the loss of continuity, massive upheaval in implementation, a full calendar system has a different calendar date for every day. Thus the week cycle is by not a full calendar system. The simplest calendar system just counts time periods from a reference date and this applies for the Julian day or Unix Time 3. – An operating system is system software that manages computer hardware and software resources and provides common services for computer programs.

All computer programs, excluding firmware, require a system to function. Operating systems are found on many devices that contain a computer – from cellular phones, the dominant desktop operating system is Microsoft Windows with a market share of around 83. MacOS by Apple Inc. Is in place, and the varieties of Linux is in third position. Linux distributions are dominant in the server and supercomputing sectors, other specialized classes of operating systems, such as embedded and real-time systems, exist for many applications. A single-tasking system can run one program at a time.

Multi-tasking may be characterized in preemptive and co-operative types, in preemptive multitasking, the operating system slices the CPU time and dedicates a slot to each of the programs. Unix-like operating systems, e. Solaris, Linux, cooperative multitasking is achieved by relying on each process to provide time to the other processes in a defined manner. 16-bit versions of Microsoft Windows used cooperative multi-tasking, 32-bit versions of both Windows NT and Win9x, used preemptive multi-tasking. Single-user operating systems have no facilities to distinguish users, but may allow multiple programs to run in tandem, a distributed operating system manages a group of distinct computers and makes them appear to be a single computer.

The development of networked computers that could be linked and communicate with each other gave rise to distributed computing, distributed computations are carried out on more than one machine. When computers in a work in cooperation, they form a distributed system.

The technique is used both in virtualization and cloud computing management, and is common in large server warehouses, embedded operating systems are designed to be used in embedded computer systems. They are designed to operate on small machines like PDAs with less autonomy and they are able to operate with a limited number of resources. They are very compact and extremely efficient by design, Windows CE and Minix 3 are some examples of embedded operating systems. A real-time operating system is a system that guarantees to process events or data by a specific moment in time. A real-time operating system may be single- or multi-tasking, but when multitasking, early computers were built to perform a series of single tasks, like a calculator. Basic operating system features were developed in the 1950s, such as resident monitor functions that could run different programs in succession to speed up processing 4. – An address book or a name and address book is a book or a database used for storing entries called contacts.

Each contact entry usually consists of a few standard fields, many address books use small ring binders that allow adding, removing and shuffling of pages to make room. A related term that has entered the lexicon is little black book.

Such books are used as dating guides, listing people who the owner has dated in the past or hopes to in the future, more explicit variations are guides for sexual partners. It is unclear how prevalent this is in practice or when it originated, more recently, the mid-2000s Guinness Brewmasters advertising campaign features the little black book as an invention of one of the brewmasters. Address books can also appear as software designed for this purpose, simple address books have been incorporated into e-mail software for many years, though more advanced versions have emerged in the 1990s and beyond, and also in mobile phones. A personal information manager integrates an address book, calendar, task list, entries can be imported and exported from the software in order to transfer them between programs or computers. And some software applications like Lotus Notes and Open Contacts can handle a vCard file containing multiple vCard records, an online address book typically enables users to create their own web page which is then indexed by search engines like Google and Yahoo. This in turn enables users to be found by other people via a search of their name, ability to find people registered with online address books via search engine searches usually varies according to the commonness of the name and the amount of results for the name. Typically users of systems can synchronize their contact details with other users that they know to ensure that their contact information is kept up to date.

Currently, most people have many different address books, their accounts, their mobile phone. A network address book allows them to organize and manage all of their address books through an interface and share their contacts across their different address books 5. – Microsoft Office is an office suite of applications, servers, and services developed by Microsoft. It was first announced by Bill Gates on 1 August 1988, initially a marketing term for a bundled set of applications, the first version of Office contained Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint. Over the years, Office applications have grown substantially closer with shared features such as a spell checker, OLE data integration.

Microsoft also positions Office as a development platform for software under the Office Business Applications brand. On 10 July 2012, Softpedia reported that Office is used by over a billion people worldwide, Office is produced in several versions targeted towards different end-users and computing environments. The original, and most widely used version, is the version, available for PCs running the Windows. The most current desktop version is Office 2016 for Windows and macOS, released on 22 September 2015 and 9 July 2015, more recently, Microsoft developed Office Mobile, which are free-to-use versions of Office applications for mobile devices. Microsoft also produces and runs Office Online, a version of core Office apps. Microsoft Word is a word processor available for Windows and macOS, Word is also included in some editions of the now discontinued Microsoft Works. The first version of Word, released in the autumn of 1983, was for the MS-DOS operating system and had the distinction of introducing the mouse to a broad population, Word 1.0 could be purchased with a bundled mouse, though none was required.

Following the precedents of LisaWrite and MacWrite, Word for Macintosh attempted to add closer WYSIWYG features into its package, Word for Mac was released in 1985. Word for Mac was the first graphical version of Microsoft Word and its proprietary Doc format is a de facto standard, although Word 2007 deprecated this format in favor of Office Open XML, which was later standardized by Ecma International as an open format. Support for Portable Document Format and OpenDocument was first introduced in Word for Windows with Service Pack 2 for Word 2007, Microsoft Excel is a spreadsheet program that originally competed with the dominant Lotus 1-2-3, and eventually outsold it. It is available for the Windows and macOS platforms, Microsoft released the first version of Excel for the Mac OS in 1985, and the first Windows version in November 1987. Microsoft PowerPoint is a program for Windows and macOS. It is used to create slideshows, composed of text, graphics, and other objects, Microsoft Access is a database management system for Windows that combines the relational Microsoft Jet Database Engine with a graphical user interface and software-development tools.

Microsoft Access stores data in its own based on the Access Jet Database Engine. It can also import or link directly to data stored in other applications, Microsoft Outlook is a personal information manager 6.

– The word is a neologism created as a homophone of fishing due to the similarity of using a bait in an attempt to catch a victim. According to the 3rd Microsoft Computing Safer Index Report released in February 2014, communications purporting to be from social web sites, auction sites, banks, online payment processors or IT administrators are often used to lure victims. Phishing emails may contain links to websites that are infected with malware, Phishing is an example of social engineering techniques used to deceive users, and exploits weaknesses in current web security. Attempts to deal with the number of reported phishing incidents include legislation, user training, public awareness. Phishing attempts directed at individuals or companies have been termed spear phishing. Attackers may gather information about their target to increase their probability of success. This technique is, by far, the most successful on the internet today, the attachment or link within the email is replaced with a malicious version and then sent from an email address spoofed to appear to come from the original sender.

It may claim to be a resend of the original or a version to the original. Several phishing attacks have been directed specifically at senior executives and other high-profile targets within businesses, in the case of whaling, the masquerading web page/email will take a more serious executive-level form. The content will be crafted to target an upper manager and the role in the company. The content of a whaling attack email is often written as a legal subpoena, customer complaint, whaling scam emails are designed to masquerade as a critical business email, sent from a legitimate business authority.

The content is meant to be tailored for upper management, whaling phishermen have also forged official-looking FBI subpoena emails, and claimed that the manager needs to click a link and install special software to view the subpoena. Most methods of phishing use some form of technical deception designed to make a link in an email appear to belong to the spoofed organization, misspelled URLs or the use of subdomains are the common tricks used by phishers. Another common trick is to make the text for a link suggest a reliable destination. Many email clients or web browsers will show previews of where a link will take the user in the left of the screen.

This behaviour, however, may in some circumstances be overridden by the phisher, phishers have even started using images instead of text to make it harder for anti-phishing filters to detect text commonly used in phishing emails. However, this has led to the evolution of more sophisticated anti-phishing filters that are able to recover hidden text in images and these filters use OCR to optically scan the image and filter it. Once a victim visits the website, the deception is not over 7.

– Microsoft Office 2001 is a suite of productivity software for Mac OS8, Mac OS9, or the Classic environment in Mac OS X. It was developed by Microsoft and announced on September 13,2000 before its release on October 11,2000, as with previous versions of Microsoft Office, Office 2001 includes Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. It also includes, for the first time, Entourage, a personal manager that features an e-mail client, a calendar. Dictionary The dictionary gives definitions for words in a document and this is different from previous versions of the dictionary which only gave the spelling of words. Word count A live word count is included which automatically displays the number of words written as they are typed and this is in contrast with previous version of Word in which Word Count had to be manually selected from a menu.

Click and type Microsoft Office 2001 made it possible to double-click anywhere on the page, in previous versions of Word, the only way to begin typing in the middle of a blank line would be to press tab or space button until the cursor arrived at the desired location. Bullet points and numbering Bullet points in PowerPoint presentations can now be more than just dots, there are several small graphics to choose from to replace the standard bullet point. Also, numbered lists can now enumerate themselves even if they are rearranged into a different order or extra items are added, QuickTime With Office 2001 it is possible to save PowerPoint presentations in QuickTime File Format. A QuickTime slideshow works just like an ordinary slideshow and can be opened and edited in PowerPoint, list manager The list manager and list wizard automate tasks that involve sorting and summarizing list data. Formula calculator This virtual calculator provides a way to create formulas for cells throughout the Excel spreadsheet.

Autocomplete Excel can predict a word or phrase that the wants to type in without the user actually typing it in completely. It features a calendar, to-do list, email and address book all into one, Entourage also lets users transfer all of their information from these features onto corresponding applications on a Palm device. This new feature allowed users to check for correct grammar and spelling with more than one language at a time, Genigraphics Wizard Makes it possible to have PowerPoint presentations made into real slides, or transparencies, among other printed media 8. – Office 2004 for Mac is a version of Microsoft Office developed for Mac OS X. The software was written for PowerPC Macs, so Macs with Intel CPUs must run the program under Mac OS Xs Rosetta emulation layer. For this reason, it is not compatible with Mac OS X10.7, Office 2004 was replaced by its successor, Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac, which was developed as a universal binary to run natively on Intel Macs.

However, Office 2008 did not include support for Visual Basic for Applications, Microsoft ultimately shipped support for Visual Basic in Microsoft Office 2011 for Mac, which also dropped PowerPC support altogether. As of January 10,2012, support for Office 2004 for Mac has ended, Microsoft Office for Mac 2004 is available in three editions, Standard, Professional, and Student and Teacher. All three editions include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Entourage, the Professional Edition adds Virtual PC.

The Student and Teacher Edition cannot be upgraded, which means when a version of Office is released, people who purchased the Student. Microsoft Word is a processor which possesses a dominant market share in the word processor market.

The new Office Open XML format was built into the version of Office for Mac. However, it is supported on Office 2004 with the help of a free conversion tool available from Microsoft. Inside Entourage By Amir A Blog Focussed On Entourage For Mac Free

Entourage is not directly equivalent to Outlook in terms of design or operation, rather, somewhat improved Exchange support was added in Entourage 2008 Web Services Edition. Entourage was replaced by Outlook for Mac 2011, which features greater compatibility and parity with Outlook for Windows than Entourage offered and it is the first native version of Outlook for macOS. Outlook 2011 initially supported Mac OS Xs Sync Services only for contacts, not events and it also does not have a Project Manager equivalent to that in Entourage.

With Service Pack 1, published on April 12,2011, Outlook can now sync calendar, notes and tasks with Exchange 2007, on October 31,2014, Microsoft released Outlook for Mac with Office 365. Indices of filesystem metadata are maintained by the Metadata Server, the Metadata Server is started by launchd when macOS boots and is activated by client requests or changes to the filesystems that it monitors. It is fed information about the files on a computers hard disks by the mdimport daemon, Spotlight comes with importers for certain types of files, such as Microsoft Word, MP3, and PDF documents. Apple publishes APIs that allow developers to write Spotlight Importer plug-ins for their own file formats, the first time that a user logs onto the operating system, Spotlight builds indexes of metadata about the files on the computers hard disks.

It also builds indexes of files on such as external hard drives that are connected to the system. This initial indexing may take time, but after this the indexes are updated continuously in the background as files are created or modified.

If the system discovers that files on an external drive have been modified on a running a version of macOS older than Mac OS X10.4. Within Mac OS X v10.4, Spotlight can be accessed from a number of places, clicking on an icon in the top-right of the menu bar opens up a text field where a search query can be entered. Finder windows also have a field in the top-right corner where a query can be entered, as do the standard load. It is also designed to be used as a tool for developers writing Importer plug-ins.

Mdfind allows the user to perform Spotlight queries from the command line, mdls lists the indexed attributes for specific files, allowing the user to specify which files and/or which attributes. The indexes that Spotlight creates can be managed with mdutil, which can erase existing indexes causing them to be if necessary or turn indexing off 12. – Microsoft Windows is a metafamily of graphical operating systems developed, marketed, and sold by Microsoft. It consists of families of operating systems, each of which cater to a certain sector of the computing industry with the OS typically associated with IBM PC compatible architecture.

Active Windows families include Windows NT, Windows Embedded and Windows Phone, defunct Windows families include Windows 9x, Windows 10 Mobile is an active product, unrelated to the defunct family Windows Mobile. Microsoft introduced an operating environment named Windows on November 20,1985, Microsoft Windows came to dominate the worlds personal computer market with over 90% market share, overtaking Mac OS, which had been introduced in 1984.

Apple came to see Windows as an encroachment on their innovation in GUI development as implemented on products such as the Lisa. On PCs, Windows is still the most popular operating system, however, in 2014, Microsoft admitted losing the majority of the overall operating system market to Android, because of the massive growth in sales of Android smartphones. In 2014, the number of Windows devices sold was less than 25% that of Android devices sold and this comparison however may not be fully relevant, as the two operating systems traditionally target different platforms. As of September 2016, the most recent version of Windows for PCs, tablets, smartphones, the most recent versions for server computers is Windows Server 2016. A specialized version of Windows runs on the Xbox One game console, Microsoft, the developer of Windows, has registered several trademarks each of which denote a family of Windows operating systems that target a specific sector of the computing industry.

It now consists of three operating system subfamilies that are released almost at the time and share the same kernel. Windows, The operating system for personal computers, tablets. The latest version is Windows 10, the main competitor of this family is macOS by Apple Inc.

For personal computers and Android for mobile devices. Windows Server, The operating system for server computers, the latest version is Windows Server 2016. Unlike its clients sibling, it has adopted a strong naming scheme, the main competitor of this family is Linux.

Windows PE, A lightweight version of its Windows sibling meant to operate as an operating system, used for installing Windows on bare-metal computers. The latest version is Windows PE10.0.10586.0, Windows Embedded, Initially, Microsoft developed Windows CE as a general-purpose operating system for every device that was too resource-limited to be called a full-fledged computer. The following Windows families are no longer being developed, Windows 9x, Microsoft now caters to the consumers market with Windows NT. Windows Mobile, The predecessor to Windows Phone, it was a mobile operating system.

There should be no need to configure Entourage 2008 manually with Exchange 2007 SP1 RU4 or higher. You should leave this to Autodiscover. And you should use Entourage 2008 for Mac, Web Services Edition. First to clear up some version information. The latest update for Office 2008 makes it 12.2.5; Entourage 2008 WSE becomes 13.0.5. You should not use the Entourage WebDAV client (12.x). Make sure that Autodiscover is working from the outside, Entourage does not use the SCP method.

You can check out this with Exchange Server Remote Connectivity Analyzer If you configure Entourage on the inside, make sure that the URL can be resolved. If Outlook 2007 / 2010 in a workgroup (not domain-joined) can use Autodiscover, you should be fine. A valid SSL server certificate is required for the host name of the Autodiscover service. The Autodiscover service silently rejects the certificate mismatches. With self-signed certificates you have to import them into the Keychain Access application. How the Autodiscover service works with Entourage 2008, Web Services Edition MCTS: Messaging MCSE: S+M Small Business Specialist. I'm having a very similar issue, which I come at from the client side.

I'm an onsite Mac support provider for 2 Entourage users. The Exchange server they connect to was just upgraded to 2010. They're both running the most current version of Entourage Web Access edition. I'm able to auto-configure both accounts just fine at the start. I enter the Domain, user and password and shortly after the full exchange and LDAP server show up and I continue on. Then I get to the Verify or Skip stage. I choose Verify and get the -17900 error (Logon failure, unknown user name or password).

It instructs me to go back and fix the portion in Red, which is the username (password isn't shown here). Both users have the correct name and password, because it works when connecting to Outlook Web Access through a browser.

And of course, they weren't rejected in the first stage of the auto-configuration. I've tried: Manually setting up the account. Using the IP address of the exchange server instead of the name Turning SSL off and on Entering the exchange server address in other ways (minus the http and EWS/Exchange.asmx) If a certificate is required, would it manifest itself in this way (name/password error?) FWIW, if I skip the verify and just continue, Entourage only briefly appears to look for new mail and then stops. No error message. I did not turn logging on, and will do that the next time I get a chance.
