How To Find Shutter Count On Canon Fast2017 For Mac
Find the thread named: FINALLY! A simple shutter count program for (many) EOS cameras In this thread the tool CanonEosDigitalInfo is mentioned. It worked for me on my 7D. T s/canon-eos-digital-info/. Try a brand new app for OS X: ShutterCount. ShutterCount displays the number of shutter actuations (the shutter count) of Canon EOS digital cameras and is developed exclusively for Mac users.
I downloaded 'Shutter Count' for my 7D and 5D (Mk 3); used on the 7D first and the 5D more recently. I downloaded an App from the Mac Store for a couple of pounds (£2.29 at present). All I do is connect the camera to the USB port by cable and the App reveals the count. I don't view the count through any other software although I did not try any other programmes when researching what to buy - Shutter Count seemed to be the one recommended. The App is always adding new cameras although I am not sure if the 6D is on there - but I would be surprised if it wasn't as the camera has been out for a while - in fact I did see it recommended by a photographer on a Lynda.com tutorial and he was using a 6D.
Perhaps using the direct cable technique might be a help. I downloaded 'Shutter Count' for my 7D and 5D (Mk 3); used on the 7D first and the 5D more recently. The app (for Mac) that I downloaded was 'Shutter Count' and, as both my text and yours state, the App reads instantly when connected to the camera. I did mention that I had not researched other software; one reason was because Shutter Count was used by a large number of Canon users and also the Canon Repair teams. No doubt EOS Inspector does the same job. My main point was connecting the camera directly which I thought might help cabbie who started the thread.
